the process

The Antenna Implementation Process.

coverage plan

COVERAGE PLAN

The beginning of the process is marked by the development of a coverage plan, which describes the geographic areas that the wireless network aims to serve. This plan takes into account factors such as terrain, population density and network requirements.

selection of sites

STRATEGIC SITE SELECTION

Coming from the coverage plan and the specific antenna types that will be used, strategic locations on the map are carefully chosen. These locations serve as ideal points for antenna positions, called a nominal point, to ensure optimal coverage and signal strength.

identification of installation buildings

BUILDING IDENTIFICATION

The focus then shifts to identifying the exact buildings where the antennas will be mounted. This decision is influenced by considerations such as structural integrity, visibility and accessibility.

plan development and site visits

PLAN DEVELOPMENT AND SITE VISIT

Concurrent with the identification of installation sites, comprehensive plans are prepared, covering radio frequency, health and safety, and construction aspects. This planning phase coincides with site visits, allowing an initial assessment of practical conditions. At the same time, negotiations are conducted with landlords to obtain needed leases.

compliance with industry regulations

COMPLIANCE WITH INDUSTRY REGULATIONS

A hallmark of this process is proper compliance with industry legislation. Every task, from planning to execution, is meticulously performed in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.

radiation risk assessment

RADIO RISK ANALYSIS

Thorough radio risk assessments are conducted, particularly focusing on radiation concerns in regions such as Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia. This assessment informs our project managers to mitigate any potential risks.

permit-dependent construction

PERMIT-DEPENDENT CONSTRUCTION

The actual construction of antennas begins only after receiving the required permits from relevant authorities. This ensures legal compliance during implementation.

in-depth stability studies

IN-DEPTH STABILITY STUDIES

Each site undergoes rigorous stability studies to ensure that the antenna structures are robust and safe. These studies include extensive engineering assessments to determine the stability of the structures under various conditions.

roof protection mechanism

ROOF PROTECTION METHOD

To prevent damage to the underlying roofs, a protective measure is adopted. A minimum 10 mm thick neoprene layer is introduced between the roof and the antenna structure to reduce possible structural stress.

emphasis on health and safety

EMPHASIS ON HEALTH AND SAFETY

Throughout the process, emphasis is placed on health and safety. This focus is particularly evident during installation and subsequent operation to ensure the well-being of personnel and the environment.

equipment handling

EQUIPMENT HANDLING

The equipment required for installation will be carefully handled and placed on roofs with specialized tools for precision and safety. The construction itself will be performed by experienced telecom technicians and will be planned and executed to minimize the impact of the work as much as possible.

site autonomy

SITE AUTONOMY

Each site is equipped with its own power meter and Internet connectivity, which improves the autonomy and operational efficiency of the network.
